JV Coach Alexandros Xenidis

 Coach Alexandros Xenidis, or Coach X as his players affectionately call him, is a highly experienced volleyball coach who has dedicated his life to helping young players achieve their full potential on and off the court.  Coach X's passion for volleyball started back when he was a student at Shelton High School.

• Played Division III Volleyball at Rivier University
• 4-time Great Northeast Athletic Conference champion at RU
• All-state volleyball player at Shelton High School
• First team SCC volleyball player at Shelton High School
• SCC Tournament MVP and champion at Shelton High School

As a player, he quickly rose through the ranks and became an All-State player, first team SCC, and SCC tournament MVP and champion. He was a natural leader on and off the court, and his exceptional talent helped him secure a spot on the Rivier University volleyball team. At Rivier, Coach X continued to dominate, helping his team win conference championships every year for all four years of his college career. His outstanding performance as a player, combined with his excellent leadership skills, made him an ideal candidate to coach.

Coach X has been at Staples as an assistant varsity coach and JV head coach since 2018, where he continues to inspire and motivate young players to achieve their full potential. His unique coaching style emphasizes teamwork, discipline, and mental toughness, and his players love him for his unwavering dedication to their success.  Coach X is more than just a coach to his players; he is a mentor, a role model, and a friend. He is committed to helping his players grow not only as athletes but also as individuals.
