John Sedlock has been the Staples Varsity coach since 2019, a highly accomplished volleyball coach with a proven track record of success. He is widely regarded as one of the most knowledgeable and respected coaches in the sport. His passion, knowledge, and dedication are the pillars of the program and have made him one of the most sought-after coaches in the game today.
Sedlock's coaching career began at Shelton High School and Darien High School, where he coached JV volleyball before becoming the head coach at Staples. His extensive experience as a coach at different levels of the sport has helped him develop a deep understanding of the game, enabling him to create winning strategies that have led to many victories.
Prior to his coaching career, Sedlock played volleyball at the University of New Haven, where he was a standout player and the all-time Dig Leader. His experience as a player has given him a unique perspective on the sport, allowing him to better relate to his players and help them reach their full potential.
As a coach, Sedlock is known for his ability to motivate and inspire his players to perform at their best. He has a keen eye for talent and knows how to develop players' skills.
